The I-75 Cup will take place in Dayton this year, with the Falcons facing Wright State on Thursday, Aug. 28. Last season, Bowling Green came back from a 2-0 deficit to defeat the Raiders and reclaim the cup on opening night.
Bowling Green’s annual matchup with Michigan on Labor Day will be in Ann Arbor for the second straight season on Monday, Sept. 1.
After their three-game road trip, the Falcons return to Cochrane to host Michigan State on Friday, Sept. 5.
Three non-conference opponents for Bowling Green come from Kentucky. Most notably, the match in Lexington on Sunday, Sept. 14, against the Sun Belt’s Kentucky Wildcats.
The other two opponents are Bellarmine on Saturday, Sept. 20, and Northern Kentucky on Tuesday, Sept. 30. This marks the first-ever time the Falcons will face Bellarmine, while it’ll be the third straight season the Orange and Brown take on NKU.
With Missouri State leaving the MVC for the American Athletic Conference (AAC), the Orange and Brown will have just seven MVC matches compared to eight in the past two seasons.
Bowling Green starts conference play at Cochrane on Saturday, Sept. 26, against Evansville in a rematch of the 2024 MVC Championship game, where the Falcons fell 3-2 in extra time to the Purple Aces.
Three of the Falcons’ seven MVC games will be at home. Most notably, BG will hit the road against Drake on Saturday, Oct. 18, in Des Moines, Iowa. Followed up with a trip to Kalamazoo against foes Western Michigan on Saturday, Oct. 25.
The Orange and Brown will host UIC on Halloween night at Cochrane Stadium. Last season, the Falcons defeated UIC 4-1 in the quarterfinal round of the MVC tournament.
On Nov. 5, the Falcons will close out the regular season on the road against the Northern Illinois Huskies.
Nichols is returning 12 players from the 2024 season, with 13 newcomers ready to suit up for the Orange and Brown in 2025.
